We are always surrounded by the grace of God.
The free gift of God, revealing his nature and love, weaves through every moment of our lives and in everything we experience. It is not enough for God that we are born, that we are created, that we begin to exist. No, God, being who he is, sustains and guides our lives ever closer to him through what we deem simple and ordinary, though they are anything but that.
Everything is a miracle. Nothing is ordinary.
That a man and woman, only children yesterday, could fall in love and tomorrow, from the union of that love, bear not one or two but seven children. That God gives to humanity the gift of creation, and in that gift, we reflect his creative power even in the fact that our greatest creative act is enacted through love.
The miracle of the woman goes beyond conception itself, in that she bears and provides and feeds from her own body, first within herself and then outside herself, the child created from their love. That, before birth, if she did not feed herself, her body would break down her own bones to feed her unborn child. That, after birth, her breasts make milk from her own blood to suckle that child.
God has imprinted his love into our very nature.
That we live in a physical world woven together by strings or molecules or some other kind of magic, which no one really understands. From these unknown substances or energies, countless trillions of layers are bound together by the grace of God to make everything we see, even the picture I hold in my hand of our son, scanned using a machine almost no one understands that can reveal him in a place I cannot see, where only the Spirit of God moves across the face of the waters.
Where can we flee from the grace of God? Behold! God is near even our child who makes his bed in the watery depths of Sheol. God is there!
If creatures in an alternate universe, one defined by the greatest fantasy authors, knew anything of our world, they would quickly realize that their world is incomparable to ours and that we live in the greatest of fantasies.
Our world is one large miracle made of miracle upon miracle upon miracle upon miracle. Seemingly infinite miracles only superseded in number by an infinite God.

Reading this blessed me in a profound way today! A great way to stand against the growing culture of death in our world...is to enthusiastically celebrate new life!
Felicitations to Joshua and his family!!
