Love Tim Allen and his shows! It is true the Bible disrupts our comfort and that is why I get arrows thrown at me when I speak the truth on things in society today. People don't want to hear it.

I don’t think order is important, but a cover to cover reading will definitely provide a broad and better understanding of “salvation history.” It’s all about perspective: if you engage the Word as a source of delight, comfort, protection and wisdom, leading you into a deeper love relationship with Jesus, you will not be disappointed!

I like that you point out how we should compliment people for actually reading the Bible. I do appreciate Tim Allen as an entertainer, myself.

Do you think we should encourage people to read scripture in a particular order, or do you like the cover to cover approach he is talking?

I think it depends on the reader and their circumstances. I think every Christian should try to read through the Bible cover to cover a few times. Reading fully through the Bible really helps the reader to be able to see the full plan of redemption and understand the context for each individual passage. But, I am also for more intensive focused studies at times as well. In my experience, I would be happy as a pastor just knowing that my congregation is opening the Bible privately. When someone in my congregation shares what they have read in Scripture sometime in the previous week, it tickles me pink.
