The Colson Center that produces the weekday radio program Breakpoint does a weekly review and commentary on Saturday. The one I listened to from yesterday covered several varied topics, but interestingly, the discussion kept returning to the theme of having children. You might find some interesting food for thought there. One was an Israeli woman who was directly threatened but survived the October 7 attacks. Afterwards she was asked how that trauma changed her. Her surprising answer. She looked at her husband and said let's have another baby. !!! John Stonestreet talks at length about the myth of overpopulation. One man in a small group meeting of his church brought up the topic of having children being a primary purpose of marriage. The leader told him to never bring it up again because the group had too many couples in it who had chosen intentional childlessness.
I don’t believe married couples have a responsibility to have kids. However, add it up: sex is a normal part of marriage, and folks who have sex usually, eventually, get pregnant. At this point, not having kids means at least one, maybe two, things: either you’re scared or don’t think God designed it real well. Neither of these is a good reason.
great article man!! Thanks for being so thorough and taking on a challenging topic!
You've been one of the writers on here I've enjoyed most. Thanks for the encouragement, bro.

Very nice article. Particularly the addressing of the "Compassion" concern. I'd add Malachi 2:14-15 to your biblical supports.
Fantastic thought. That passage fits very well. I plan on writing significantly on this topic in the future and am definitely looking at these verses.
I agree. There needs to be a lot more conversation on this topic. I find it's often avoided in the church lest someone be offended.
